To address an (older) Nokia phone to send text messages through a computer interface, which is easy e.g. for cut-n-paste error messages to colleagues, Linux offers gnokii and a GUI xgnokii.

Those who use it or used it know that it has a design that requires an awful lot of mouse movements.

I'll show you how to interface with perl/XS directly into libgnokii the same way gnokii does, but now opens up any perl script to communicate with your Nokia phone.
