DBIx::Simple is a lightweight structured wrapper around DBI that makes your code cleaner and perhaps even faster. I'll explain why I made this module in 2002 and why it remains popular in 2011. I'll show how it works (audience: beginners) and how it can be expanded to fit your project's needs (audience: intermediate).
