Ajax is a technique that enables web developers to create interactive applications by replacing the standard "load a new page on each click" model with the event-driven model of rich-client GUI development.

This talk introduces the OpenThought library, available for both Perl and PHP, which abstracts the technical details of Ajax into an elegant and lightweight API.
