The stereotypical business architecture is fundamentally flawed.
It essentially paints us into a corner where the only way to scale is up, which means we have to buy a bigger database engine and spend more time praying to the fickle gods of database optimization. We're, in a word, screwed.
There's a way out of this unfortunate situation. It begins by recognizing that commands (for changing the data model), and queries (for getting reports from the data model) are fundamentally different operations. And it just gets better from there.
This talk is about that. How to factor your business application for greater clarity, maintainability, and scalability.
Attended by: Michael Kröll (pepl), Emmanuel Rodriguez (potyl), Jozef Kutej (jozef), Herbert Breunung (lichtkind),
