on (serious) operating systems, signals are one way of interprocess communication that comes for free. also perl has its own internal signals.

It will be show how easy signals are to use but why they should treated with proper respect. It will cover how to catch and process signals, from handling warnings/DIEs over ctrl-c on the commandline up to (simple) controlling of a daemon process.

notes:
* I will not cover any microsoft-os. not even mention it!
* basic unix command line knowledge helps
* if you know how to make signals unsafe and set flags .. sorry, this is a beginners talk
