An eager early Perl 6 developer shows the attractions of the new language. The material covers the evolution of the design, the status of the various implementations, and an essential getting started Howto. The major part is about what will remain the same, and what will be different when working with Perl 6. Given the facts, attendees will be able to decide for themselves what upgrade path, if any, to take.

The talk is illustrated with substantial working projects written with Perl 5 to 6 migration in mind. The presenter has primarily been involved with new networking and Pod tools.
