The workshop is over for this time (and tonights social)
25/05/08 18:26 by Claes Jakobsson (claes)
Day two of the scheduled part of NPW has come to and end and we'd like to thank our speakers, sponsors and last but not least all the attendees who made this workshop a real success.
Tonights social will take place at the same place as yesterday - that is The Bishop Arms - since many people seemed to like it and they had a nice selection of beer and other beverages.
Sometime from 20.30 an onwards.
Thanks for this year and hope to see you soon again, The NPW 2008 organizers
A bit more sleep tomorrow morning
24/05/08 20:43 by Claes Jakobsson (claes)
The start of the workshop tomorrow has been moved 30 minutes and the first talk starts at 10.00 instead of 9.30 as previously.
Tonights social event
24/05/08 18:30 by Claes Jakobsson (claes)
Since Perl people are generally also beer people a pub with a wide selection of beer would be a good idea.
So our suggestion is to meet up at "The Bishop Arms" located on Sankt Eriksgatan 115. It's a bit off-center but still quite near both Sankt Eriksplan and Odenplan. The chances of fitting lots of people there are a bit bigger than at a more central location.
The number of beers on tap is usually around 20 to 25 and on bottle between 70 an 100. They also have a wide selection of whisky.
I reckon there will probably be some people showing up around 20 - 20.30 or so.
Getting into the venue tomorrow
23/05/08 22:54 by Claes Jakobsson (claes)
Since there is construction work being done in the area of the venue the entry from "Eastmanvägen" is closed and the entry is from the park. There are signs on Dalagatan where it says "Studiefrämjandet" that will direct you correctly.
Pre-workshop meetup
23/05/08 14:23 by Claes Jakobsson (claes)
We haven't arranged any official pre-workshop meetup on fridy evening but our suggestion is that those who are interested meet up at Tennstopet which is a classical pub and resturant in the heart of Vasastan and almost next to the venue. They have a really nice bar menu that is moderatly priced.
The address to the pub is Dalagatan 50, closest subway station is Odenplan.
People will probably be there from 19.30:ish

Lightning Talks on the Wiki
12/05/08 21:52 by Claes Jakobsson (claes)
Lightning talks are very short (normally 5 minutes) presentations on a often very specific subject.
If you want to give a lightning talk at this years NPW put your name and the topic of your talk on this wiki page..
For more info on what lightning talks are and how to best give them read this article on perl.com
Adress of the venue
12/05/08 15:33 by Erwan Lemonnier (R1)
The adress of the conference venue is Eastmanvägen 8.
It is somewhat in between the subway stops Odenplan and St Eriksplan if you travel underground, and closest to the stop St Eriksplan of bus 4 if you travel at ground level in one of Stockholm's methanol driven busses.
A street map of the location can be found at here.
Paying your workshop fee
12/05/08 10:46 by Claes Jakobsson (claes)
A number of people have raised the question on how to pay for the workshop.
Payment will be possible via the web using PayPal or directly at the workshop.
We are currently in the a registration phase for Stockholm.pm at the Swedish tax agency that must be in place before we can open up online payment. Once online payment is open we'll post information here about it.
People that are listed as committed are either organizers and/or speakers (who are exempted from the fee).
Sorry for the inconvenience.
