Welcome to second Italian Perl Workshop 2011 newsletter. The workshop will happen on September 8th and 9th in Torino (Turin), at the Department of Computer Science od the Torino University.

Even though the Call for Papers is still open, we already have some confirmed talks. Among the others: Perl 5.14 news, fractal cryptography in Perl, Perl on DragonflyBSD... and others not strictly related to Perl such as Dojo Toolkit, PostgreSQL, Arduino programming with Davide Gomba of Torino FabLab.
No we also have an agreement with Hotel Montevecchio, which is offering out attendees a 10% discount on room prices. The hotel is farther from the workshop is compared to Mercure Royal, but more central. Details are available here:
SUBMIT A TALK PROPOSAL
Call for Papers is open and will close on August 1st. Workshop topic is "Two Perls", to give relevance both to Perl 5 and Perl 6. We're however open to any "perlish" topic. Submit your proposals!
Subscriptions are still open for the Perl Course, by Stefano Rodighiero (author of Pocket Perl). The course will be run on September 7th 2011, the day before the workshop.
It's also possible to subscribe directly at the venue the day of the course. However, in order to help us choose the best suited room, it's suggested you book in advance.
Sadly, Alexis Sukrieh won't be able to come to IPW. Instead, we will have:
who is, like Alexis, a Dancer core developer, and the creator of Curses::Toolkit.
