We are also proud to be able to invite Dave for his first time to Europe for a Perl event (and first ever time in Europe in fact!).
Moreover Dave will give a World Class day's training on Moose on October 21, 2009 (the day before the conference). This mini-course will be a paid event, and will be expressly for the purpose of covering Dave's flight to Europe and hotel expenses.
The cost for person is likely to be around EUR 100, with a maximum of 25 participants.

Please get in touch as soon as you can! If you're interested, let us know by sending an e-mail to info@perl.it

Possible training day on Moose with Dave Rolsky in Pisa in October 2009 (Italian Perl Workshop)

20/06/09 17:11 by Michele Beltrame (‎arthas‎)

The preparations for the 2009 Italian Perl Workshop are going full speed ahead! We've already got some fantastic confirmed guest speakers (Tim Bunce, Jonathan Worthington), and we have the opportunity of getting Dave Rolsky (autarch), well known in the Perl community for his innumerable CPAN contributions: Moose, HTML::Mason, and DateTime to name a few (http://search.cpan.org/~drolsky/ for the rest), and for other projects (OpenJSAN).

As Dave lives in the United States, covering his travel costs is expensive...

However, Dave has also suggested that he would be available to give a World Class day's training on Moose. This mini-course would of course be a paid event, and would be expressly for the purpose of covering Dave's flight to Europe and hotel expenses.

The cost for person is likely to be around 100 Euro, with a minimum of 10 participants. Fewer than 10 would mean an increased cost, or the cancellation of the course: this would of course mean we couldn't invite Dave Rolsky to the workshop either.

The most likely date is the 21st of October, 2009 (the day before IPW, Wednesday).

Who's interested? This is a very rare opportunity to hear a World Class speaker talk about Moose in Europe!

We'd like to note that Pisa is easily accessible by plane from many European cities, with low cost airlines such as Ryanair and Easyjet flying direct to PSA (Pisa Galileo Galilei airport, 2km from the town centre).

Please get in touch as soon as you can! If you're interested, let us know by sending an e-mail to info@perl.it so that we can finalize arrangements ASAP. If we are able to run the course, we would ask for payment shortly, up front.
